Overview
Colour Type is a graphic system created for a motocross brand that turns the model name into the design itself. Each letter has its own shape and colour, drawn from the brand’s distinctive palette, so the name on the bike becomes a bold, abstract yet recognisable pattern with a playful touch.
The system consists of two alphabets: a colour alphabet and a custom typeface with a matching slant. Both combine seamlessly, so colour graphics and typography work together as one visual language on the bike.
Because every model name is simply “written” in this alphabet, the system scales across an entire range. Each new model gets its own unique look without the graphics having to be reinvented.
